Eagles fire up under pressure

Violet Town’s 117 runs just not enough

Written by JAIMIE BECKINGSALE.

MANSFIELD played Violet Town on Saturday in their last hit out before the finals.

Captain Jaimie Beckingsale lost his fifth toss in a row and Violet Town elected to bat.

Lachie Christopher got Mansfield going with a great catch followed by a great throw for a run out to have Violet Town stuggling at 2/5.

Dave Watson picked up Palmer and Russo and had three wickets after his third over.

After being 4/18, Violet Town rallied to 55 before Stewie Bryant clean bowled Horsbough for 24.

Bodycoat (49) was hitting the ball well and he struck a couple of big sixes over the scoreboard.

A change of form was needed by Mansfield.
